Welcome to our P94M @ P188 site!

P188M brown building — Our building is located at 442 East Houston Street, across from Baruch Drive. We are co-located with PS188M. Our school is located on the fifth floor of the building. We have 6:1:1, 8:1:1, and 12:1:1 Middle School classes and 6:1:1 and 8:1:1 High School classes. We also have a Middle School Inclusion Class.

Auditorium picture with brown seats and white walls — Our auditorium is located on the Fourth Floor. It is used for students during some periods with our music and art teachers as well as for performances, graduations, rallies, and special events.

Gymnasium picture; blue floor and white walls — Our gymnasium is located on the First Floor. It is a multipurpose space used for indoor recess and school events.

Mini gymnasium with orange cones — The mini-gym is located on the Second Floor. The space is used for physical education classes and special events.

Blue cafeteria tables and recycling bins — The cafeteria/ lunch space is located on the First Floor. Students eat breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria space on the first floor as well as practice composting.

Hallway of fifth floor — Our floor consists of the main office, OT/PT room, Sensory Gym, Counseling Office, Nurses Office, Staff lounge and bathrooms, ADL room, Speech Office, two student bathrooms, and 13 classrooms.

Tan door for nurses office — The Nurse’s office is located in the center of the Fifth Floor. There is a nurse on site every day.

Speech Therapy, OT/ PT and Sensory Gym, and Counseling office — Here are pictures of our related service offices. We have a Counseling Office, Speech Office, OT/ PT office, and a Sensory Gym.

STEM and Music Classrooms with blue walls — At our P188M site, we have a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Teacher. We also have a music teacher.

Blue door to inclusion room — In our Inclusion class, we have one paraprofessional per grade level (i.e., sixth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade). Students in our Inclusion classes learn alongside their general education peers at P188M. The students receive various services based on their IEP mandates.

6:1:1 classroom pictures with schedules and workstations — This is an example of a 6:1:1 classroom at our site. We have the Flow Of The Day posted, as well as individualized schedules and station expectations. We also have workstations and small group/ 1:1 work stations.

8:1:1 and 12:1:1 classrooms with schedules, posters, and sensory toys — These are examples of 8:1:1 and 12:1:1 classrooms at our site. We have the Flow Of The Day posted, as well as classroom contracts, and anchor charts. We also have work task bins, collaborative seating, 1:1 work tables, break/individual seating, and sensory bins.

Bulletin boards of things happening at P94M — Here are some of the Instructional Programs/ Teaching Practices we use at P188M: GO Math!, Fundations, Structured Teaching, Departmentalization/ Skill Streaming for ELA/ Math, Workshop Model, Project Based Learning, Related Service Provider Integration, Pre-Vocatioal Programs, and Worksites. Our Art Programming Includes High School Theater Careers and Residency, Inside Broadway, and Marquis Studious Residencies.

Text of classroom technology — All of our classrooms are outfitted with technology to enhance student learning through multi-sensory opportunities. This includes Promethean Boards, classroom computers/ students laptops, and iPads with educational apps to support student learning.

Schedules, students interacting with teachers, Lincoln Center Program — To help prepare our High Schoolers for career readiness, we focus on activities of daily living (ADL Skills), Theater Career Residency with Arts Connection, Worksites, the Lincoln Center Ambassadors Program, Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), and High School Career Fairs.

Learning Cafe Walls — Some examples of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) that we focus on are cooking with staff support and supervision, and cleaning and storing dishes and materials. We also work at our school store and complete deliveries. In our Learning Cafe, we learn about nutrition and purchasing goods.
