🎉 P94M @ P276M Career Day!

Dear P94 Family,

I woke up this morning with so much gratitude in my heart. Thank you all for making Career Day at 276 such a wonderful success. The students were excited, engaged, and deeply involved in all the activities provided by the incredible organizations that joined us.

I want to give a heartfelt thank you to our Transition Team and a special shoutout to Mr. Dunn, our sound engineer, for setting the tone with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

A huge thank you also goes to Ms. Duwe and Melissa Stark, who were truly the heart of the day. From transforming our space with their amazing decorating talents to providing visual word banks that helped our students ask and answer questions meaningfully, they created an environment where our students felt seen, heard, and inspired.

I’d also like to extend my sincere thanks to our teachers and support staff for their time, patience, and unwavering dedication. Your efforts ensured that our students were supported, engaged, and able to make the most of each station and activity. Your presence made all the difference.

Special appreciation as well to Ms. Sandy Levy and Mr. Harras for coordinating with outside agencies and helping families begin to plan for their child’s post-secondary future.

My motto this year is: we don’t work for the school—we work for the students. We are the artists shaping a better world for them, and every effort you made yesterday reflected that belief.

I look forward to seeing you all again next week at our Work Site Showcase, where our 188 students will proudly present the incredible work they’ve been doing through work-based learning. It will also be a great opportunity for our middle school students to get a glimpse of what’s ahead in high school—as they begin strengthening their job skills, exploring their interests, and making meaningful choices that will help shape their future career paths.

If you don’t follow us on Instagram yet, please do @75m094! You’ll find some amazing photo and video slideshows that Melissa created, showcasing all the highlights from Career Day. (I hope you don’t mind, Melissa, but I’m also attaching just one here so everyone can check it out!) Thank you, Melissa, for capturing these beautiful moments!

With deep appreciation,

Ms. Makini Velazquez

Our first annual career day was held on, Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at our P276M site.
